By the end of 2020, there will be three new EV’s will be joining the Audi line-up. The new Audi e-tron SUV will be leading their EV’s line up. The new e-tron SUV will be leading the EV’s line up and will be launched in 2018. The first concept car of e-tron was revealed at the Frankfurt Motor show in 2015. It is predicted that the e-tron SUV will be almost identical to the concept car. Of course, there would be some change in the design but the gist will remain the same.

There is a reason that Audi is going for E-tron SUV rather than a saloon or a coupe. Even though the architecture and designing the platform for the SUV is quite complex in comparison. Also the SUV are not aerodynamic perfect too. But Audi knows there is an increase of demand in the SUV segment. Powering the Audi’s EV’s are the three electric motors. Two motors would be mounted on the rear axle and one on the front axle. All the three motors produce 429bhp and 800Nm combined. Audi believes that the e-tron SUV is capable of accelerating from 0-62mph in just 4.5 secs.

The reason why e-tron SUV does not fall under Audi’s normal nomenclature is that the EV would cost more than the Q series. Expect the total range to be approximately 310 miles. This is a clear indication that Audi e-tron SUV is gunning for the Tesla Model X. Also, the SUV will be fitted with the fast charging technology. Audi is implying that the car will get charge up to 80% in just 30 minutes.
